Samsung HL61A750 61-Inch 1080p LED Powered DLP HDTV

Filed under: HDTV — admin @ 5:27 am

I’ve been watching LED Samsung DLP technology for about a year, so that when the next generation came out a few months ago, I prepared to buy. And fortunately did on Amazon.com.

LEDs offer pure red, green and blue, and this set claim a series of life of 60,000 hours (which is 8 hours a day for 20 years). Not to replace the lamp, turn the color wheel, no rainbow effect, no motor / fan noise. The whites are bright and the shadows are black. My unit is supplied with the current firmware is already installed.

I have not fallen on TV that is wall mountable, so that is not limited to plasma and LCD televisions. And in less than 16 centimeters, the options remain open for the cabinets and stands. My only problem with this form factor so far has been to mount the center speaker, but I ordered a OmniMount Center Channel Speaker CCH1B platform Amazon, so you should do the trick.

I went to high-tech geek [almost] all the way to the sources and links. I say “almost” because they have invested in Blu-Ray yet. However, I have a TiVo HD, high definition cable box, and up-scaling DVD recorder connected via HDMI, and our Wii using component cables. All images are pristine and crisp! The colors are incredible, but I need to reduce the brightness just a little ‘: see the Stanley Cup playoffs, the ice is almost blinding, but the whole contrast ratio of 10,000:1 is very evident with the darkness of puck and divided gamers’. And even if the Wii is not breaking the barriers of graphics compared to Xbox or PlayStation, the video is detailed and vibrant. Connecting to my laptop with an RGB cable was sweet – a 61 “monitor of a computer!

In my opinion, the judgments are most useful when they are not all positive or negative, so now I will mention some drawbacks or areas less fortunate than I have experienced. As stated in the manual, the optical output of the TV is tuned for only 5.1 channels of TV stations itself. All other digital sources are available only get 2 channel audio, the optical link. This is a bit ‘lame, but all that means I have to use my surround sound receiver to change the digital audio inputs. I think I might go and buy one with HDMI switching capability. Also, since I had all 3 times I shot, I received a message, “Check Fan No. 3. Every time I turned the TV off and back and that the message does not appear. I want to make a service call, but the lack of consistency, it is difficult to resolve. I guarantee – I’ll keep my eyes on it. Finally, even if I have the TV speakers off in the settings menu, sometimes the TV speakers are turned on loud. I navigate through menus, turn the speakers, turn down the volume, then turn the speakers of reversing. This has been happening only since I started using a Harmony remote with my setup, so probably not the TV, only one signal lost or stray from my remote.

In short, this is an excellent TV which I recommend. The image is impressive, the array input is excellent and the price is cheap (and down) – I went back [...] with Amazon Post-Order Price Guarantee.

Samsung LN22A450 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

Filed under: HDTV — admin @ 2:00 am

I love my 22 inch Samsung. I want to purchase a maximum of 26 inches series, however, only 5 or 6 feet away from the couch on TV, so that 22 inches is more than enough. The picture is excellent, however, I have a problem that can not be resolved, because it is with Verizon, not Samsung.

We and our Samsung Verizon FiOS TV is connected to a Verizon HD box via an HDMI cable. It worked fine for a couple of hours, but then I lost the signal on the HDMI connector. This has happened in and out again for two days, so Verizon has sent a service technician. While at home, said the excellent quality of pictures of Samsung. Installed a new HDMI cable as well as an attachment a backup component cable, would have more problems with the HDMI signal.

I’m happy to install the component cables, because we lost the HDMI signal, a day after he left. Search Samsung HDMI revealed an incompatibility with Verizon set top box. There is nothing wrong with the Samsung HDMI connector is just that the Verizon Set Top Box are a little ‘back the clock and are not currently compatible with the Samsung Advanced HDMI connector. Hopefully a firmware update for Verizon finally solve this problem.

Until then, we used the component cables to connect to the Verizon set top box and the picture is outstanding! If you do not need a TV giant, I recommend this 22-inch HD LCD TV.

With regard to the sound, good and on par with other LCD TVs. If you’re a fan of audio and need top of the line audio, connect the TV to a low cost Samsung [or any other brand] home theater system. This is what we did. I connected the 22-inch Samsung Onkyo stereo receiver, along with two bookshelf speakers and the sound is magnificent.

We are happy with 22-inch display, because we sit so close to the television. Must be the judge the size of the screen because there is obviously a personal preference. We also like the fact that it takes too much space.

As for the picture, everyone who sees it loves the video quality.
